Paul Saenger, Curator Emeritus of The Newberry Library in Chicago, will give a lecture on the early fifth century Latin biblical and patristic page: space, symbols, numeration and color as sources for an historical neurophysiology of reading. The lecture will focus on the early manuscripts of Jerome, Rufinus and Augustine.
